Genuine Pearls Tour

Trip to discover genuine pearls next to Barcelona

3 days and 3 nights

Day 1 – Montserrat. Cathedral of Nature.

  • Accommodation at Hotel Enológico, on the outskirts of Barcelona.


Morning: After checking in at the hotel, you will depart to Montserrat to visit the charming corners of this magna and emblematic mountain of Catalonia and of its 11th C Benedict Monastery, which are very important symbols of Catalan history, spirituality and culture.

Lunch: Free time to have lunch at Montserrat .

Afternoon: Private guided tour of the nearby town of Terrassa, to relive 19th C Modernism and industry. You will visit: Casa Alegre de Sagrera the majestic house of Joaquim Sagrera, a textile manufacturer who lived in the 18th C; and Masia Freixa, famous for its famous parabolic arch structure and vaults inspired in Gaudí, and for its high tower.

Night: Dinner at the restaurant of Artur Martínez in Terrassa, winner of a Michelin star in 2010, and where you will experience its exquisite simplicity in a private atmosphere.


Day 2- Sitges. Artistic charm of the sea.

  • Accommodation at Hotel Enológico, on the outskirts of Barcelona.


Morning: Panoramic route from Castelldefels to Sitges, all along the serpent road of the Garraf mountain ridge beside the Mediterranean Sea. On the way, you will visit Celler Guell, a modernist cellar by Francesc Berenguer and Antoni Gaudí. Once in Sitges, you will walk along the streets of this coastal pearl, visiting the curious “beach houses”, original from the beginning of the 20th C, and you will try to imagine how a beach day was back then.

Lunch: Before enjoying a tasty Paella or mariner dish, you will have the opportunity to learn the secrets of its elaboration at the inspiring cooking workshop organized at the marina port of Sitges, Aiguadolç.

Afternoon: Visit the Cau Ferrat and Maricel museums.

Cau Ferrat: Former home and studio of the painter and writer Santiago Rusiñol (1861-1931). It hosts pieces by Rusiñol, Ramon Casas, El Greco, Zuloaga and Picasso, among others. It also contains a great collection of forged iron, crystal and ceramics.

Maricel: Apart from its beautiful location right in front of the sea, it hosts works of different styles and eras, and Catalan sculpture of both modernist and “noucentist” styles.

Night: free time for dinner.

Optional: Night End the day having a cocktail in front of the sea, at the beautiful Sitges promenade.

(Note: If the trip coincides with the Carnival week (from 25th February to 5th March 2014), the activities may vary to accommodate others, as Sitges is famous for its colorful and attractive Carnival).


Day 3 – Sant Sadurní d’Anoia. Cradle of Catalan cava.

  • Accommodation at Resort del Vino, on the outskirts of Barcelona.


Morning: Visit the cellar of Cavas Codorniu (in Sant Sadurní d’Anoia). This 500 year-old cellar is located in a very important Catalan Modernist building, which has been declared National Historic- Artistic Patrimony. After a private visit of the cellar, you will have the opportunity to enjoy a special tasting in which you will be taught all the basic concepts for the tasting of cava, so that you can savor its shades better.

Lunch: You will enjoy an unforgettable meal in this exceptional setting full of history and tradition, a lunch in the cellar.

Afternoon: Depending on the preferences of the group, you can choose between a Segway route through a vineyard or a relaxing spa session or “vinoterapia“.

Night: Dinner at the hotel.
