23th June – Night of Sant Joan (Saint John)

The Night of Sant Joan, also popularly known as the Night of Fire, is a celebration that takes place during the night from 23 to 24 June, one of the shortest nights of the year due to the proximity of the summer solstice.

On this night, for dinner, it is customary to make family gatherings or going to popular parties, and eat typical sponge cakes of Sant Joan: with candied fruit, cream and pinions, and especially the sponge cake with greaves.

The stars of this night are the fire and the noise of firecrackers
